Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held strategic meetings with public representatives from Shopian and Kupwara districts on Thursday, wrapping up consultations ahead of the Assembly's Budget Session.

Scheduled to start on March 3, this session will feature the first budget under Omar Abdullah's administration, following his government's inception in October last year, succeeding a six-year central rule. Discussions involved key figures such as District Development Council chairpersons and representatives who participated both in person and virtually.

Emphasizing efficient project execution, Abdullah urged focus on projects with clear deliverables within two to three years. The consultations aimed to gather insights from those on ground, ensuring the budget reflects public needs. Participants included MLAs, trade unions, and industrialists, reiterating the administration's commitment to public welfare.
