In the face of ongoing leadership disputes within AIADMK, senior leader V V Rajan Chellappa has called for former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam to halt his interventions to foster unity within the party.

Chellappa, speaking from his position as a party organizing secretary, suggested that Panneerselvam pause his legal pursuits for six months, suggesting such a move would pave the way for potential reconciliation with General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami. This comes after years of division following Panneerselvam's expulsion in 2022 due to leadership conflicts.

Chellappa remains optimistic about AIADMK's prospects, emphasizing that only under unified, single leadership can the party win the 2026 assembly elections. Meanwhile, Panneerselvam persists with an agenda of unity, despite resistance from other party factions.
