Sambhal Unrest: Missing Persons Linked to Violence, Clarifies Police

Authorities in Sambhal have clarified that individuals reported missing are likely those involved in the recent violence on November 24, which claimed four lives and sparked a political storm. Senior police officer Krishan Kumar confirmed that around 2,500 to 3,000 individuals took part in the clashes, leading to 79 arrests so far.

Amidst allegations from AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who accused the government of creating an oppressive environment forcing Muslims to leave Sambhal, the police maintained that normalcy prevails. Owaisi criticized the administration for perceived communal targeting and demanded reassurance measures to prevent an exodus.

As tensions simmer, the police are disseminating the images of suspects, intent on ensuring the guilty are captured and facing justice, while asserting that no innocent citizens will face harassment.
