On Tuesday, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bihar state government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, highlighting its failure to address the worsening law and order issue. He alleges that more than 200 rounds of gunfire occur daily across Bihar, with kidnappings becoming commonplace in Patna.

"Crime is escalating every day in the state. We have repeatedly pointed out that daily over two hundred rounds of ammunition are fired in Bihar," Yadav stated. "Kidnapping incidents are rampant in Patna. Many suffer police torture, resulting in deaths in custody, but no accountability is held," he added. Yadav accused the government of ignoring the people's struggles, criticizing the Chief Minister for being detached from the ground reality.

Yadav remarked, "The Chief Minister remains indifferent, merely echoing what his officials convey." His comments follow a series of violent occurrences, including a reported shooting on Tuesday in Patna's Kankarbagh locality. Reports from Patna Police indicate that four criminals engaged in gunfire outside a residence before retreating to a nearby house.

The episode prompted action from the Special Task Force (STF) alongside police forces, who have since encircled the premises in an attempt to negotiate a surrender from the offenders. Senior police officials, including the SSP of Patna, are actively overseeing the operation, with search efforts ongoing in the vicinity.
