Karnataka Legislators Get Recliners for Post-Lunch Naps

Karnataka Assembly Speaker U T Khader announced the introduction of recliners for legislators to use post-lunch to curb absenteeism. Fifteen recliners will be rented during the legislative session from March 3 to March 21, avoiding permanent purchase due to infrequent usage. Additional tea and coffee facilities are provided.

The Karnataka Legislative Assembly, in a bid to reduce post-lunch absenteeism, will provide legislators with recliners for naps starting this session. This initiative was declared by Assembly Speaker U T Khader.

Khader emphasized that the decision aims to address the issue of lawmakers skipping proceedings after lunch, diverting to informal nap sessions.

The Assembly will rent 15 recliners specifically for the session from March 3 to March 21 to avoid unnecessary expenditure. Also, tea and coffee will be made available outside the House for the legislators' convenience.
