In a dramatic series of events, the Congress party launched a fervent protest against the recent raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the premises of senior party leader Bhupesh Baghel, the former chief minister of Chhattisgarh. Accusing the ruling BJP of using the investigation agency as a political weapon, Congress burned effigies of the government and the ED across the state.

The Congress alleged a pattern of suppression against the opposition, claiming the probe was driven by vendetta rather than justice. In Raipur and various district headquarters, party members voiced their dissent, painting the ED's actions as overreach and an effort to intimidate dissenting voices. Bhupesh Baghel emerged defiant, describing the raid as a tactical move born out of BJP's frustration.

Adding to his statement, Deepak Baij, State Congress Chief, argued that such tactics would only fortify the party's resolve. The ED's operation, linked to an alleged liquor scam involving Baghel's son, resulted in the seizure of cash and documents after a comprehensive eight-hour search. Despite the tension, Congress vowed not to succumb, promising a robust counter-response.
