Opposition parties in Maharashtra expressed their dissatisfaction with the nearly month-long budget session that concluded without appointing a Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the assembly. The BJP-led Mahayuti government's handling of proceedings drew substantial criticism.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Bhaskar Jadhav highlighted that despite lacking sufficient numbers, the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), effectively articulated issues concerning marginalized communities. The assembly experienced three adjournments due to the conduct of legislators from the ruling side.
Congress MLA Nana Patole accused the government of attempting to divert attention from its failures by provoking social unrest. He questioned the government's claims regarding industrial investments, pointing to ongoing unemployment and farmer suicides.
