Police issued a second notice on Wednesday to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, following allegations of derogatory remarks made against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an official confirmed.
The notice summons the 36-year-old comedian to appear before the investigating officer for a case filed at Khar police station, prompted by a complaint from Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel. Details of the appearance request remain undisclosed.
The issue escalated after Kamra's satirical remarks during a recent show in Mumbai, targeting Shinde's political activities. This sparked unrest, resulting in vandalism by Shiv Sena members at the show venue. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Kamra, and several Shiv Sena workers have been arrested for the vandalism.
