In a sharp critique of opposition parties, Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora accused them of misleading the Muslim community regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, urging the community to place trust in government-led reforms. Deora emphasized that these reforms, he argues, would ultimately benefit both current and future generations of Muslims.

His comments come as the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) announced a nationwide peaceful protest strategy against the proposed Waqf Board changes, urging people to don black arm bands as a symbol of dissent. Deora alluded to previous controversies, such as the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the abrogation of Article 370, suggesting these instances were also fueled by opposition misdirection.

Deora stated that claims against CAA had misled people to believe it would result in Muslims losing citizenship, a fear he insists has proven baseless over the past five years. Likewise, he noted that the abrogation of Article 370 has, in his view, resulted in significant benefits for Kashmiri Muslims, refuting the opposing narrative spread during its implementation.
