Amritsar Stays Calm Amidst Tensions: Airport Shutdown and Blackouts Enforced

Amid heightened tensions following Operation Sindoor, Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla announced on Thursday the closure of Amritsar airport until May 10. He reassured Amritsar's residents, asserting the Indian Army's readiness and urging them not to panic.
Aujla urged citizens to maintain calm and avoid stockpiling essential goods. He discouraged the sharing of unverified information on social media, stressing that mock drills should not lead to assumptions of attacks.
After precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, the Indian government ordered key airports shut, including Amritsar. Blackout measures resumed in Amritsar, part of a mock drill to test emergency readiness across India, following the Ministry of Home Affairs' directive.
