Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty has accused BJP's youth and student groups of orchestrating protests intended to spark unrest over the 'Bharat Mata' controversy. These demonstrations, according to Sivankutty, were allegedly coordinated by the Raj Bhavan.
Sivankutty faced obstruction during his travels following his departure from a Raj Bhavan event where a 'Bharat Mata' portrait was displayed, leading to protests against him. The BJP youth wing, Yuva Morcha, and student organization ABVP have been accused of acting on Raj Bhavan's instructions.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, in response, stated in an interview that his understanding of 'Bharat Mata' grew during the emergency period and goes beyond political ideologies. Meanwhile, the tension between the LDF government and the Governor persists amidst allegations surrounding the controversial portrait display.
