In a significant political development, Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt has been re-elected as the president of the Uttarakhand BJP. This re-election marks a historic first, as Bhatt is the only party chief in the state to secure a second consecutive term in 25 years.

The formal announcement was made by the party's central observer, Harsh Malhotra, in a gathering that included Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and senior leaders like Dushyant Gautam. Expressing gratitude, Bhatt thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other central leaders for their trust in his leadership.

Under Bhatt's presidency, the BJP plans to capitalize on the successes of the 2022 assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha polls, strategizing for a sweeping victory in the upcoming panchayat elections and the 2027 assembly polls. Bhatt's unwavering commitment stems from his longstanding political career that began in the early 1990s.
