TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee has criticized the recent ceasefire announcement during the India-Pakistan military standoff. He likened the decision to a player declaring innings just before scoring a century, suggesting that the move was premature while many Indians were expecting a strategic victory.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Banerjee questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on US President Donald Trump's social media post, which claimed that the US had a role in brokering the ceasefire. Banerjee pointedly asked why Modi did not challenge Trump's assertion publicly.

Despite the ceasefire, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared that the desired politico-military objectives were achieved in Operation Sindoor. Singh emphasized that the decision to pause the operation was independent and not influenced by external pressures.
