Adhikari described Banerjee's actions as a blatant attempt to disrupt the democratic process. He claimed her statements to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) undermined the autonomy of the Election Commission of India and pressured state government employees involved in the electoral process, threatening free and fair elections.

Adhikari called on the Election Commission to ensure that BLOs can conduct their duties without fear of coercion. Meanwhile, Banerjee's comments during an administrative meeting in Bolpur have sparked a political row, as she emphasized the role of BLOs as state government employees and critiqued the lack of communication from the ECI on training sessions.
