Meghalaya Cabinet Minister AL Hek has reached out to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, calling for the release of two Catholic nuns detained at Durg Railway Station on July 25.
The nuns were apprehended following an FIR reportedly lodged by Bajrang Dal members, raising concerns over the justification of their arrest.
Hek, a BJP MLA in the predominantly Christian state of Meghalaya, urged for an immediate release and a thorough investigation, voicing his anxiety in a letter to the Chhattisgarh CM.
