Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has raised alarms about the escalating political polarisation in India, warning that it poses a threat to the country's long-term interests. Speaking in Bikaner, Gehlot pointed out that while polarisation may offer short-term benefits, it ultimately undermines national unity.
Joining in this sentiment, Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa condemned Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks in Parliament, particularly over his characterization of victims in a terrorist attack. Gehlot reiterated Congress's role in preserving India's diverse fabric, attributing this to their policies and constitutional commitment.
Additionally, Gehlot accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of overlooking the contributions of past Congress leaders to the nation's development. Randhawa criticized Shah's speech, which he claimed unfairly targeted Congress, and stressed that India doesn't need patriotism validation from the BJP.
