Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis accused the Congress of attempting to label Hindus as terrorists following the 2008 Malegaon blast, specifically targeting RSS members and Hindutvadis.
During a media interaction in Nagpur, Fadnavis criticized the former UPA government for engaging in vote bank politics by introducing terms like 'Hindu terror' and 'Bhagwa Aatankwad' amidst global terror attacks by Islamic extremists.
He referenced a Mumbai court's recent acquittal of all accused in the Malegaon case, including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur, asserting that it unravelled a conspiracy meant to portray a false image of Hindus as terrorists.
