Telangana Congress MPs Protest Urea Shortfall Amid Monsoon Session

Telangana Congress MPs have staged a protest against the central government, accusing it of failing to deliver promised urea supplies to farmers. Amidst the ongoing monsoon session, they demand the full allocation of 8.3 lakh metric tons, emphasizing that the current supply shortfall is severely impacting Telangana’s agricultural sector.

As the monsoon session of Parliament unfolds, Telangana Congress MPs have launched a protest demanding the central government release the promised urea supply to the state’s farmers. The MPs displayed banners echoing the farmers' plight, highlighting the shortfall from the committed 8.3 lakh metric tons to only 5.3 lakh metric tons.

Congress MP Mallu Ravi criticized Narendra Modi's government sharply, warning of potential mass protests if the urea supplies were not restored. Ravi emphasized the urgency, noting that delayed urea delivery threatens crop yields, compelling farmers to potentially take to the streets against the BJP government.

In the ongoing discourse, Congress MP Vamsi Gaddam labeled the situation as 'complete mismanagement' by the BJP. Despite engagements with parliamentary committees and appeals by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to Union Minister JP Nadda, the region continues to grapple with a severe urea crisis, further strained by uneven distribution favoring BJP-ruled states.
