Operation Sindoor: A Decisive Check on Cross-Border Terrorism

The Indian military, through Operation Sindoor, aimed to curtail cross-border terrorism without escalating tensions into a full-scale war with Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced. Nearly five months post-conflict, Singh detailed the operation's achievements during an event in Bhuj, Gujarat, commemorating Dussehra.

In his speech, Singh emphasized India's determination to combat terrorism while maintaining restraint from engaging in war. The military operation, launched on May 7 following the Pahalgam terror attack, targeted Pakistani-controlled terrorist infrastructures, achieving significant strategic success over four intense days.

Operation Sindoor effectively exposed Pakistan's air defence, affirming India's military capabilities. Singh commended the joint forces for their swift action and reassured their continued role in safeguarding national integrity. He also reiterated India's commitment to diplomatic resolutions with Pakistan, despite unresolved territorial disputes like Sir Creek.
