Meanwhile, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev has signaled a willingness to allow Putin's plane to traverse Bulgarian skies, should it facilitate the proposed summit in Budapest. This summit, planned by Trump, aims to negotiate an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Hungary has assured Putin's safe passage for the event.

Despite the ICC's allegations against Putin for the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children, Russia denies these charges and questions the ICC's jurisdiction. However, the political backlash leaves open questions as Budapest edges towards leaving ICC membership while aiming to host pivotal peace talks.
