Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh has acknowledged internal conflicts within the Mahagathbandhan coalition during the Bihar assembly elections' ticket distribution process. The discord, he admitted, has projected a negative image to the voters, particularly with allied parties contesting against each other on several seats.
Singh emphasized the urgency of resolving these conflicts, as elections are not a friendly affair. He assured that the Congress high command is actively working to address the issue ahead of the nomination withdrawal deadline, signaling efforts towards coalition harmony.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) recently released its candidate list, fielding 143 contestants, including 24 women, for the assembly polls. Despite the Mahagathbandhan alliance, discrepancies in the RJD and Congress seat allocations have led to direct contests in key constituencies. Possible compromises are on the horizon to ensure unity against the National Democratic Alliance. The electoral battle unfolds amidst claims by Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj to contest all 243 seats.
