In a significant leadership change, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Manish Sharma as the new in-charge of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC). Sharma succeeds Krishna Allavaru, who is focusing on party affairs in Bihar, where crucial assembly elections are scheduled in November.

The move marks a strategic shift, as Allavaru is tasked with navigating the political landscape in Bihar, critical for Congress's success in the forthcoming polls. The decision reflects the party's efforts to strengthen its youth wing under new leadership.

"The party appreciates the contributions of Krishna Allavaru," stated K C Venugopal, AICC general secretary. This changeover signals Congress's commitment to fostering dynamic leadership and consolidating its position among young voters.
