Sukhbir Singh Badal, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), sharply criticized the current AAP government in Punjab on Tuesday. He claimed the government has failed to compensate farmers affected by recent floods, and it has not kept its promise to provide certified seeds to those in need.
Badal's comments came while he was campaigning for SAD candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency, with by-elections slated for November 11. The former deputy chief minister highlighted the plight of farmers who suffered from reduced paddy yield due to a virus and are forced to sell their crops at lower prices.
He urged voters to support the SAD, noting the party's track record in development and infrastructure projects. Badal also criticized Delhi-based parties for undermining welfare schemes initiated by SAD's patriarch, Parkash Singh Badal, claiming these initiatives were curtailed or ended during subsequent regimes.
