Lukewarm Response to BJP's Bandh in Jharkhand's Kolhan Region
A 12-hour bandh called by BJP in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts received a lukewarm response as schools and businesses remained open, and normal traffic was observed. The protest was against a baton-charge incident, but the bandh failed to significantly disrupt regular activities.

The BJP's call for a 12-hour bandh in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts saw little impact as schools and businesses functioned normally, according to officials.
Supporters tried to enforce the shutdown with rallies, but their efforts were foiled, said West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police Amit Renu. No violence or preventive arrests were reported. Despite reduced numbers of long-distance buses, local transport was largely unaffected.
Seraikela-Kharsawan also reported minimal disruption, with regular traffic flow and no road blockades. The bandh was in protest against an alleged baton-charge on tribals, but it failed to significantly interrupt daily life.
