Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a significant reassessment of global development standards and proposed new initiatives within the G20 framework to combat international challenges.
During the opening session of the G20 Leaders' Meeting, Modi suggested the establishment of a G20 Global Traditional Knowledge Repository to preserve diverse cultural traditions that promote health and wellbeing. He reiterated India's commitment to tackling the issues posed by drug trafficking, including substances like fentanyl, through the formulation of a G20 Initiative on the Drug-Terror Nexus.
Highlighting the importance of global cooperation, Modi stressed Africa's role in world progress and proposed the G20–Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative. Furthermore, he advocated for the creation of a Global Healthcare Response Team to enhance readiness for health emergencies and natural disasters.
