Over 76,000 jobs in Central Armed Police Forces to be filled soon

In a massive recruitment drive, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will fill 76,578 vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in various positions. The Ministry has started all the necessary groundwork for this huge job drive. The move comes at a time when the Opposition has been targeting the central government for failing to provide adequate jobs in the last four and half years as promised by it.
According to a statement, a maximum of 54,953 vacancies is for the post of Constable (General Duty), out of which the CRPF has the maximum post of 21,566, followed by BSF with 16,984 vacancies, SSB with 8,546, ITBP with 4,126 and Assam Rifles having a vacancy of 3,076 posts. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct a computer-based written examination for a month, from February 11 to March 11. Moreover, the remaining the remaining vacancies will go to the CISF and other CAPFs. Of these posts, 7,646 are reserved for Women while the remaining 47,307 are for men.
With regards to Sub-Inspector (GD) posts, there are a total of 1,073 vacancies, out of which 508 vacancies are in the BSF while CRPF has 274, vacancies in SSB are 206 and ITBP has 85 posts. In the Sub-Inspector (GD) posts, 38 vacancies are for women and remaining 1,035 for men. The SSC will make direct recruitment for these posts through a written examination to be held from March 12 to March 16. A direct recruitment drive was made through the UPSC for 466 vacancies for Assistant Commandant (GD) posts. The result of the written examination to fill these posts was declared on January 10.
The shortlisted candidates will now appear for physical and medical examination to be conducted by the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB), from February, 25.02.19 onwards. Besides, 20,086 vacancies pertaining to promotional posts and in other cadres such as Tradesman, Ministerial, Medical, Paramedical, Communication, Engineering cadres are also being filled by the CAPFs
