Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, visited Massajog village to meet the family of Santosh Deshmukh, a sarpanch who was abducted and murdered over a year ago in Beed district.
At a commemorative event, Maratha leader Manoj Jarange criticized the lack of justice for Deshmukh's family and urged the Maratha community for unity, emphasizing self-protection against injustice.
One suspect remains missing in Deshmukh's case, sparking demands from BJP MLA Suresh Dhas for the death penalty. The murder was linked to Deshmukh opposing extortion attempts by a wind energy firm.
