In Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, police have filed an FIR against Shiv Sena MLA Nilesh Rane, accusing him of trespassing on a BJP supporter's home. This development follows Rane's claims of uncovering cash-filled bags meant for voter inducement during a sting operation.
The charge against Rane, filed at Malvan police station, stems from a complaint by BJP worker Vijay Kenavadekar. This event has intensified tensions between the ruling allies Shiv Sena and BJP, with Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane, Nilesh's brother, questioning the solidarity of Shiv Sena in the face of the accusations.
Elections for various municipal bodies in the state are upcoming, adding to the political dynamism. Nilesh Rane himself alleges a conspiracy, claiming the FIR represents desperation to target him and diminish the political influence of his family in the region.
