In a strategic move aimed at formulating a comprehensive manifesto, the Congress on Saturday unveiled its initiative to encapsulate the concept of 'Bor Asom' or a greater Assam, inclusive of all communities. This outreach effort seeks to engage with the public, a vision endorsed by the party's Assam unit president, Gaurav Gogoi.
Gogoi emphasized the importance of understanding the needs and aspirations of various communities, the youth, and government employees across the state. He proposed a convention next January where opposition parties can unite under a common vision. He recalled the past success of initiatives like RTI and MGNREGA, which were grounded in public consultation.
The Congress' ongoing 'Raijor Podulit, Raijor Congress' program aims to strengthen its organizational presence, with activities such as medical camps in tea estates. Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi highlighted that the manifesto will capture the aspirations of the Assamese people, possibly leading to a common manifesto if alliances form.
