Habba condemned the decision, labeling the state's judiciary as instruments of the "politicized left."
In a statement on X, Habba expressed her decision as a protective measure to maintain the office's integrity. "As a result of the Third Circuit's ruling, and to protect the stability and integrity of the office which I love, I have decided to step down in my role," she stated, highlighting her continued resolve.
Despite stepping down, Habba clarified her decision was not an act of defeat, noting, "But do not mistake compliance for surrender." Her departure underscores the tensions surrounding high-profile legal appointments in the current political climate.
