Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to spearhead an eagerly anticipated debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in the Lok Sabha. Senior Congress figures, including KC Venugopal, Manish Tewari, and Imran Masood, among others, will also partake in the conversation on electoral reforms.

In the Rajya Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to kick off discussions on SIR. Lawmakers have allocated a total of 10 hours to thoroughly address the ramifications of SIR in both houses of Parliament.

Opposition parties, led by Congress, have long sought a debate on SIR, citing alleged discrepancies in the voter list and questioning the pressure on Booth Level Officers. Rahul Gandhi has been an outspoken critic of the Election Commission's efforts, expressing grave concerns over the drive's impact on democratic processes.
