In a recent political tussle, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh contested Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's assertion about Jawaharlal Nehru's plans concerning the Babri masjid. Ramesh personally handed Singh diary entries from Vallabhbhai Patel's daughter, suggesting Singh's claims were unsubstantiated.

The encounter occurred outside the Makar Dwar of Parliament, where Ramesh presented the original Gujarati entries—entries that Ramesh claims lack any reference to Nehru's alleged intentions. While engaging with Singh, Ramesh pushed for an apology for what he termed as 'falsehoods.'

The BJP countered Ramesh's allegations by citing a book by Patel's daughter to support Singh's statement. However, Ramesh maintained his stance, urging Singh to refrain from spreading unverified information and to read the original diary entries to understand the discrepancy.
