Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar sparked controversy by stating he was unafraid of political opposition, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, even when faced with imprisonment.
Shivakumar's comments were made in response to a warning issued by Kiran Hebbar of the Apartment Owners Association. The Deputy CM emphasized that threats or voting bloc warnings would not influence him, adding that he values human relationships over political intimidation.
Critics, including opposition leader R Ashoka and former Infosys CFO T V Mohandas Pai, condemned Shivakumar's remarks. They argued that power should not suppress citizen voices and called for democratic respect and dialogue, highlighting that Bengaluru deserves answers, not threats.
