Voter Turnout Key in Telangana's Gram Panchayat Elections
The second phase of Gram Panchayat elections in Telangana began on Sunday, with voters casting ballots for thousands of sarpanch and ward member positions. The second phase of the Gram Panchayat elections in Telangana commenced smoothly on Sunday, with polling stations opening at 7 am.
A considerable number of positions are at stake, including 3,911 sarpanch roles and 29,917 ward member posts. Candidates number more than 12,700 for sarpanch and over 71,000 for ward members.
Eligible voters exceed 57.22 lakh, and voting will end at 1 pm. Counting starts at 2 pm with results forthcoming shortly thereafter. The state election commission previously scheduled elections for December 11, 14, and 17.
