Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission on Sunday, accusing it of conspiring with the ruling party to manipulate voting rights. During a 'Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod' rally at Ramlila Maidan, she emphasized that every step in the electoral process arouses suspicion.
Gandhi named Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, asserting that the BJP will not be able to shield them from accountability. She insisted that the officials would one day have to answer for their 'conspiracy' to disenfranchise voters.
Drawing attention to alleged electoral misconduct in Bihar, Gandhi criticized the payment of Rs 10,000 to women during the Model Code of Conduct, deeming it another example of 'vote chori.' She challenged the BJP to contest elections through traditional ballot papers, suggesting this would expose their inability to win without manipulation.
