The Maharashtra legislature session concluded this Sunday, with Speaker Rahul Narwekar announcing that next year's budget session is set to begin on February 23.
Both Speaker Narwekar and legislative council Chairperson Ram Shinde delivered the Governor's message regarding the session's prorogation in their respective legislative bodies. The seven-day Winter session in Nagpur saw the Lower House in action for over 72 hours and clearing 16 out of 18 bills. In terms of efficiency, only ten minutes were wasted, averaging over 10 hours of daily work, noted Narwekar.
The Upper House, headed by Chairperson Shinde, operated for over 48 hours, averaging nearly seven hours each day, showcasing a productive agenda during the legislative period.
