Farewell to a Political Pillar: Shamanuru Shivashankarappa

Veteran Congress leader Shamanuru Shivashankarappa, who represented Davanagere South Assembly and was known for his contributions to politics, education, and industry, passed away at 94. He served as KPCC treasurer and led the All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha.

Veteran Congress leader Shamanuru Shivashankarappa passed away on Sunday at a private hospital due to age-related ailments, according to official sources.

The 94-year-old leader represented the Davanagere South Assembly constituency and had been receiving treatment for some time. He leaves behind three sons, including S. S. Mallikarjun, a Karnataka Minister, and four daughters.

Shivashankarappa, a former minister, held the treasurer's role at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for several decades and was the president of the All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha. He was recognized for his contributions as an educationist and industrialist.
