The opposition Congress party revealed on Tuesday that the second phase of its 'Jan Akrosh Yatra' would initiate from Fagvel village in Kheda, starting December 20, concluding in Dahod on January 6.
This 1,400-kilometer march through seven districts of central Gujarat aims to highlight key issues such as inadequate compensation for rain-hit farmers, illegal liquor and drug sales, and various societal grievances including youth and women's issues, as declared by the state Congress president, Amit Chavda.
The campaign is a response to the BJP's Rs 10,000 crore relief package, criticized by Congress as insufficient. The party targets an increased compensation, farm loan waivers, and stresses fighting corruption in government schemes and addressing resource shortages.
