Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy charged the Karnataka Congress government with neglecting farmers and engaging in corruption, a bold accusation made during the 1066th Jayanthi celebrations of Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji in Mandya district, part of his Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing the media, Kumaraswamy lamented over farmers' suicides since the government took office, stating that it failed to fulfill its promise of disbursing Rs 24,000 crore to 32 lakh farmers, only managing Rs 12,000 crore to 24 lakh farmers.
Kumaraswamy also expressed intent to reveal more details of government corruption after December 20. He voiced concerns over Congress's proposed bill against hate speech, which he believes aims to stifle opposition voices, contrasting it with incendiary slogans allegedly directed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a recent Congress rally in Delhi.
