Congress Stands Firm Against Weakening MGNREGA in Jammu

The Congress held a protest in Jammu against the weakening of MGNREGA and the dilution of Jammu and Kashmir's rights. The Congress party staged a sit-in protest in Jammu under the mottos 'MGNREGA Bachao' and 'Humari Riyasat, Humara Haq,' vowing to protect the rural employment initiative and the rights of Jammu and Kashmir.

Led by Pradesh Congress Committee working president Raman Bhalla and former minister Yogesh Sawhney, the protest criticized the weakening of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Bhalla highlighted issues like delayed wage payments and diluted workdays, urging for the restoration of the scheme.

Bhalla and Sawhney emphasized the Congress's dedication to preserving constitutional rights and addressing federal principle erosion. The campaigns aim to engage the public through peaceful democratic protests, in response to what they label as 'anti-people' policies affecting Jammu and Kashmir.
