Mumbai Congress president Varsha Gaikwad has leveled serious allegations against the ruling BJP-led alliance, accusing them of large-scale misuse of money and power in the BMC elections. Gaikwad claimed that the alliance indulged in corrupt practices, including distributing cash and goods openly, during the polls.
She maintained that no action was taken against the coalition, comprising BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, while Congress workers were unfairly targeted. Gaikwad expressed confidence that voters, desiring better governance, would turn towards Congress for cleaner and more effective administration.
Additionally, Gaikwad criticized the Election Commission for mismanagement, particularly for discrepancies in electoral rolls and the lack of communication regarding new voting technology. She warned that such conduct undermines democratic principles, posing a threat to the country's integrity.
