Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Assam starting Saturday. During this visit, he will inaugurate two Amrit Bharat trains and lay the foundation for the Kaziranga elevated corridor, according to official sources.
This visit marks his second to the northeastern state in under a month. Upon arrival on January 17, Modi will witness an elaborate performance of the traditional Bodo folk dance, 'Bagurumba', featuring 10,000 performers at the Arjun Bhogeswar Barua Sports stadium.
The following day, Modi will proceed to Kaliabor to lay the foundation stone for the Kaziranga elevated corridor, a project worth Rs 6,957 crore. He is also expected to virtually launch two Amrit Bharat Express trains, linking Dibrugarh and Gomti Nagar as well as Kamakhya and Rohtak, while addressing a public gathering in Kaliabor.
