A political crisis looms over the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) as S Manohar, the general secretary, demands swift action against party leader Rajeev Gowda. The call comes after Gowda allegedly used obscene language against a woman official.
Gowda is evading authorities following a police complaint by Commissioner Amrutha Gowda of Shidlaghatta City Municipal Council, who claims he threatened her over the removal of a banner with his image. The incident has sparked condemnation and demands for his immediate suspension.
Manohar criticized such conduct as damaging to the Congress party's values, urging stronger disciplinary actions than a mere show-cause notice. Additionally, opposition leader R Ashoka also denounced Gowda's behavior, accusing the Congress of shielding him and calling for more decisive measures to restore public trust.
