In a pointed observation of Karnataka's political landscape, Leader of Opposition R Ashoka cast a spotlight on growing tensions within the Congress. He alleged a power-sharing discord between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, underscoring an intensified internal struggle. He noted, 'The Siddaramaiah vs DKS clash is evident in their constant political statements.'

Simultaneously, Congress leader DK Suresh advocated for patience, reiterating Shivakumar's commitment to party decisions while stressing the imperatives of discipline and unity ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections. 'The journey to becoming Chief Minister requires resilience and adherence to party directives,' Suresh remarked, emphasizing Shivakumar's role in maintaining cohesion among the cadre.

In contrast, Deputy CM Shivakumar deflected attention from his recent meeting with the Congress high command in New Delhi. With speculation rife on potential leadership changes as the state government approaches its midway tenure in November 2025, Shivakumar described his visit as routine, stating, 'There's nothing unusual; our engagements are for government and party affairs.'
