In the wake of a tragic plane crash that claimed the life of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called for a Supreme Court-led investigation. Banerjee expressed her distrust in existing mechanisms, alleging that 'all other agencies' have been compromised, and only a probe under the Supreme Court's supervision would produce credible results.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Banerjee emphasized that a transparent investigation is essential to uncover the truth behind the crash that occurred near Baramati in Pune district. She underscored her faith in the Supreme Court's ability to conduct an unbiased inquiry.
The crash, which also resulted in the death of four others, has heightened concerns over the efficacy of investigative agencies. Banerjee's remarks have added momentum to calls for an independent investigation to ensure accountability and justice for Pawar and the other victims.
