Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday fiercely criticized the suspension of eight Opposition Lok Sabha MPs, labeling it a 'fundamental issue of democracy.' Gandhi accused the ruling NDA of silencing dissent and shutting down critical debates in Parliament.
She highlighted how such incidents have become routine, arguing that preventing the Leader of Opposition from speaking undermines democratic processes. 'Parliament is the temple of democracy,' she stated, questioning why presenting diverse views is feared by the government.
Gandhi also pointed to a former Army chief's unpublished book, claiming it contained critical insights into government handling of national security, and raised issues surrounding the Epstein files, questioning the government's conduct.
