NDA legislature party leader Y Khemchand Singh, alongside state BJP chief A Sharda Devi, has made a formal bid to establish a government in the politically turbulent state of Manipur. This announcement came after a meeting with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Lok Bhavan.
Manipur has been governed under President's rule since February of last year, and this move marks a significant political development. The NDA delegation, which included two MLAs from the Kuki-Zo-majority districts of Churachandpur and Pherzawl, is keen on bringing about a popular government.
According to Devi, the NDA staked their claim in the presence of the newly appointed legislature party leader and BJP observer, Tarun Chugh. This political maneuvering seems to pave the way for a potential shift in governance within the state.
