Uday Bhanu Chib, the national president of the Indian Youth Congress, was granted release from Tihar jail following intervention by the Delhi High Court, sources revealed on Tuesday. The court overturned a previous ruling that had nullified his bail.

Justice Saurabh Banerjee presided over the plea filed by Chib, who was contesting the earlier suspension of his bail by a sessions court, allowing for his release. A day prior, the magistrate had granted him bail, which was later paused by the sessions court, leading to his detention.

Chib had been in custody due to his involvement in a 'shirtless protest' orchestrated by Youth Congress members during the AI Impact Summit in India. The protest featured participants donning T-shirts with politically charged slogans targeting Prime Minister Modi and President Trump.
