In a significant political development, Congress candidates Abhishek Singhvi and Vem Narender Reddy have been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha representing Telangana. This announcement came as the deadline for the withdrawal of nominations concluded on Monday.
Vem Narender Reddy expressed gratitude to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and prominent party leaders, including Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, for endorsing his candidacy. Reddy also acknowledged the support from AIMIM and CPI in securing his position.
Singhvi, a distinguished Supreme Court advocate, resumes his tenure after completing a previous term. Meanwhile, Narender Reddy, a trusted advisor to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, continues to build his political legacy following his association with the Telugu Desam Party before transitioning to Congress.
