Nishikant Dubey Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray Over Alleged Ideological Shift
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for allegedly sacrificing his ideology for power by aligning with Congress, referencing Bal Thackeray's 1969 vow never to collaborate with Congress. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), accusing him of abandoning his party's ideology for political gain. Dubey reminded Thackeray of his father Bal Thackeray's solemn vow never to ally with Congress following a violent incident in 1969.
Dubey shared a historical account from the Lok Sabha, detailing how Bal Thackeray, then confronted by an angry mob, fired shots into the air in self-defense. This led to questions about his revolver license and reinforced his resolve to never align with Congress.
The political dynamics of Shiv Sena shifted significantly in 2022 when Eknath Shinde opposed Uddhav Thackeray's alliance with Congress, ultimately leading to a split and the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Shinde, backed by BJP, emerged victorious in the subsequent legal battle, claiming the official Shiv Sena title.
